Khateeb : Abdul-Basit Khan
Br Abdul-Basit Khan has previously served as the Chair of Council on American-Islamic Relations – Canada (CAIR-CAN) Board of Directors. He is a graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Law and is currently a partner with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto where he practices labor and employment law. His peers affectionately refer to him as “A-B-K” and highly regard his community activism.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
ULOOM-UL-QUR’AN: “Sciences of the Qur’an”: What is Al-Qur’an? Why is it called Al-Qur’an? What is Wahi? What are the causes of Revelation? Learn everything you need to know about the sciences of the Qur’an on Saturdays from Maghrib to ‘Isha. There is no fee for this course, however you are requested to bring note taking material. This course will be taught by Sh. Uthman Khan at ICCM in English.
AQEEDAH TAHAAWIYYAH: Taught by one of the most renowned scholars in North America, Dr. Iqbal Nadvi. This course offers an in depth understanding of the authentic creed for a Muslim. Offered in English on Thursdays between Maghrib & ‘Isha
QUR’AN CLASSES FOR CHILDREN: Classes have started from Mondays to Thursdays – 4pm to 7pm.
COMING SOON: ICCM will insha-Allah offer beginner and advanced Tajweed lessons for adults taught by the
Shatibiyyah Institute of Tajweed and Qiraa’aat. Stay tuned for registration details!

By the grace of Almighty Allah SWT , We are pleased to announce the final closing of new Jame Masjid project in Milton, at 8069 Esquesing Line , across WalMart Complex. We officially received the key of New Masjid, Which is being named -
“Islamic Community Center of Milton (ICCM)”
It has been an extremely difficult process to finalize the deal, due to innumerable issues we had to face during the past few months with regards to financing etc, which resulted in delays in closing the property a few times. But Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT finally blessed the Milton community with this new Masjid and Community Center, which will not only be a place of worship, but will also house a gymnasium, a banquet hall (in future Inshallah), weekend Islamic School, Youth Center with lots of sport activities etc.
Just to give you a little glimpse of the property, the property details are as follows:
Total area : 3.12 acres of land (estimated to accommodate over 350 cars Inshallah)
Built-up area : 11700 sqft of constructed area (includes 10,000 sqft of warehouse, enough to accommodate a gymnasium, party Hall and the Masjid for gents and ladies.
Zoning : M1 Industrial, which permits the use of a place of worship, banquet Hall, Convention Center, Day Nursery, Funeral Home, Fitness Center, etc.
Services Available : Municipal water, Septic Tank (Sewage services to be extended from adjacent Property in the South)
Age of the building and Condition : 6 years new and in Exceptionally good condition.
Upcoming programs: Inshallah, we will have a full fledged inauguration of the property during late January or February 2011. However, we will be opening the doors for the community with Juma prayers officially beginning from Friday December 31, 2010.
Brothers and Sisters, we have put in all these efforts with the help of Allah SWT, to serve the Muslim community in Milton, especially because the community has been suffering from the past 5 to 10 years with no proper place for Juma Salat, Eid prayers, Taraweeh and other community activities. It is our hope that with the purchase of this property, the community will be relieved off these problems. Please remember to pray for the success of this community project, for the benefit of our children, our grand children, our great grand children and the generations to come Inshallah.
May Allah SWT accept our Ibadat and make ICCM, one of the best and most useful Islamic Centers in North America, based on the Tauheed and oneness of Allah SWT. Ameen.
